Most of the processes implemented during the transition and rehabilitation phase are ad hoc and show the lack of an established working framework for each particular case. It is therefore vital to assimilate the lessons learnt and good practices both in the past and in other intervention contexts for an adapted application in new processes or in those where work is already underway so that progress can be made in relation to peace building initiatives. The objective is to reduce the existing tendency to devote new efforts in each individual situation, as this tendency minimises the capability for response and action in post-conflict situations.

One of the main challenges identified when analysing post-war rehabilitation processes is management of the know-how acquired in each context, i.e. how to carry out the transfer of the good practices and lessons learnt in order to prevent the loss of resources and efficiency that often occurs.

The objective of this section is to promote the exchange of lessons learnt and good practices acquired in post-war rehabilitation contexts and to act as a repository for subsequent references.
